Mike Donaghy is an experienced teacher, accomplished musician, and arts facilitator with over two decades of dedication to music education. He is the owner and head teacher at MD Music, providing high-quality music tuition in schools and colleges across Bangor and North Down, as well as from his fully equipped teaching studio. In addition, Mike serves as a Director of Sparkle and Star Music, a children’s entertainment show that features live music, incorporating instruments, songs, dance, sign language, and Makaton.

As the former Director of Yamaha Music Schools Ireland, Mike has been instrumental in shaping music programs and developing young talent. He has performed across Europe, Canada, and the United States, and as a songwriter, his work has reached the top ten charts in Ireland, Germany, and the Netherlands. Mike is also an International Singer Songwriter Association (ISSA) award winner, recognising his achievements on the global stage.

Mike continues to guide students from the classroom to the stage, with many going on to achieve significant success. He also supports arts facilitation in schools and colleges, helping to run and maintain student rock groups, ensuring they are well-equipped for live performance.

His passion for music education is matched by his dedication to fostering creativity and growth in students of all ages and abilities, helping them reach their full musical potential.
